Hump Day Motivation Tip of the Week 3: “Be in the Moment”
Sometimes we can get so busy with planning the future that we forget to absorb all that we can in the moment that we are in right now. I used to relish in making plans to do this and become that. Sometimes a plan is necessary to write out so that we remember which steps that we need to take in order to get somewhere, but if you must make a plan, let it serve as a guide; a guide that can change along the way because sometimes the entire plan can change as you change or you may find that some of the steps are not needed in the process. The tentative plan is only an issue when we are anxious to get to the final destination or to each of the steps in between. As a very goal oriented person, I learned that happiness was never tied to anything that I could have attained that I had originally planned. Happiness was something that only could be found on the inside. Cherishing where I was in the moment, the people that I was around, the lessons that were to be learned at that very instant was most important and what life was really all about. So be in the moment.
